Established in 2018, Red Boot Beverage’s Midwest facility has 350,000 square feet dedicated to the bottling and canning of carbonated and non-carbonated beverages. They are Iowa’s largest beverage co-packing company, known for excellent customer service, quality, and meeting delivery timelines. As a locally-owned company that cares about the work they do and the clients they serve, Red Boot proved to be the type of partner that makes our job so fun and rewarding.
When discussing the tank design needs for their 2026 facility and cellar expansion, Jim Kuhr knew exactly what he wanted and what Red Boot Beverage needed: Critical space and functionality guidelines, maximum efficiency and process times, and strict adherence to local/regional compliance. Using these three pillars of focus as our roadmap, we were able to marry industry standard feature packages with custom critical design insight that made for a highly functional, and aesthetically beautiful, facility upgrade.

The facility start up date was always a non-negotiable deadline for Jim’s team, and by maintaining ongoing communication with concise decision making, most unavoidable hiccups worked themselves out organically through discussions. Red Boot’s flexibility, partnered with their extreme knowledge of their operation, allowed Silver State Stainless to work to our design and fabrication strengths, creating a smooth timeline and complication free execution.
10,000 Gallon UL-142 storage tanks with secondary containment
When it came to storage of high proof ethanol, the inaugural ingredient for the bulk of mixed RTD beverages, safety and compliance cannot be overstated. Adherence to the highest compliance standard for above ground storage vessels (explosive and flammable products) was the only option for this facility from our first conversation. Tank-integrated secondary containment designs (UL-142) allow for the safe and practical storage of high proof spirits and allow all staff and community members to sleep well, knowing that in the event of an unforeseen catastrophe, the area remains safe and protected against critical worst case scenarios. Silver State Stainless is a premium manufacturer of UL-142 compliant storage vessels, a national standard aimed at uniform safety and full scope compliance in the safe storage of flammable products.
